Robert Neumann winner of International German Pianist Award 2025

At the International Piano Forum in Frankfurt, Robert Neumann won the 14th International German Pianist Award, worth €20,000, as well as the Schott Music Audience Award, worth €3,000. The competition took place in the Great Hall of the Casals Forum. Robert Neumann completed his master's degree with Prof. Eldar Nebolsin and is currently studying for his concert exam at the Eisler.
The International Piano Forum Frankfurt ¨C Freunde & F?rderer e.V. supports talented young pianists of the next generation by awarding the International German Pianist Prize. In addition to the generous prize money, the forum supports exceptional artists with additional career-promoting measures.
He is the winner of numerous national and international competitions ¨C most recently 1st prize at NYCA (New York Concert Artists) 2023, Gold Award at the NTD International Piano Competition 2024 in New York and the German Music Competition 2025. Described as ¡®an exceptional talent¡¯ and ¡®one of the most promising pianistic talents of his generation,¡¯ Robert Neumann was awarded the International Classical Music Discovery Award and honoured as an OPUS KLASSIK young artist. He is SWR Kultur New Talent, is supported by the Mozart Society Dortmund and the Nikolaisaal Potsdam, received the Swiss Charity Award and was named a prize winner of the Freiburg Concert Hall. Two solo albums have been released by SWRmusic/Naxos, and Deutsche Grammophon has released a portrait, a studio concert and several singles.
Robert Neumann grew up in a musical family speaking three languages and made his orchestral debut at the age of eight with the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra. Since then, he has performed at the Kissinger Sommer, the Schwetzinger Festspiele, the Gstaad Menuhin Festival, the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, Interlaken Classics, the Pfingstfestspiele Baden-Baden and the Classical Bridge Festival New York, among others.
Robert shares his enthusiasm for making music with other musicians such as Julia Fischer, Daniel M¨¹ller-Schott, Sebastian Manz and Olli Mustonen. In 2024, he founded his own piano festival, which presents international pianists of the new generation. His compositions have recently been premiered by Julia Fischer, Benjamin Nyffenegger and Alexey Stadler, among others.
